Throughout her writing career, Lucy has won a number of awards for her works. These include the A Bertram Chandler award for Outstanding Achievement in Australian Science Fiction and a number of Ditmar awards - annual awards for the best new releases in Australian Science Fiction as voted at each year's national convention.



Ditmar Awards:
Best Short Fiction 1989 for "My Lady Tongue"
Best Novel 1997 for "The Scarlet Rider"
Best Short Fiction 2002 for "Absolute Uncertainty"
Best Novella 2004 for "La Sentinelle"

Julius Vogel Award 1998 for Best Short Story for "Mist and Murder"

Aurealis Award 1998 for Best Fantasy Short Story for "Merlusine".

A Bertram Chandler Award for Outstanding Achievement in Australian Science Fiction 2003 for her achievements in literature and research since 1979.




World Fantasy Award 1996 for Best Anthology for "She's Fantastical".

Wilderness Society Environment Award for Children's Literature 1998 for "The Penguin Friend".

Ned Kelly Award 1997 Best First Crime Novel for "The Scarlet Rider".

Guild of Horror Writers Award for "La Sentinelle".
